Nantucket (Part 1)
So yesterday I went to Nantucket. It was a very sudden trip. My younger sister, Hannah, had a soccer game there but couldn’t go without a “adult”. My parents both wanted to go, but it would cost a ridiculous amount of money for one of them to go, and Hannah’s coach could bring me for only $14 because she could put me down as a coaches assistant.
It was my first time on a boat or an island. My biggest goal was to see a whale. I REALLY wanted to see a whale! But I better start from the beginning. One of Hannah’s friends mom drove us down to Hyannis in Cape Cod.

On the bridge
We arrived in Cape Cod!
Hannah’s friends mom was nice enough to buy us a colada
Hannah(right) and Zoe, whose mom drove us
The wind was already blowing
The parking lot had the biggest buttercups I’ve ever seen!
We got maps at the ticket office
We waited for the rest of the team to arrive (we were the first ones there)
Meanwhile I said hello to a seagull
He seemed interested in the boats
But not so interested in me
More players arrived
While we scorched in the sun
Finally the whole team was there!
We waited for the boat (at least in shade this time)
One of the girls shouted “puppy in a purse!” and what do you know… an actual purse puppy!
There were dogs everywhere
And I mean everywhere

Literally!
And then our boat came
The Grey Lady IV
Boarding (I think that’s what it’s called when you get on a boat)
I must admit; the inside was not at all what I was expecting. I’m not sure what I pictured, but it definitely wasn’t a cafeteria inside a boat!
Another dog
I barely noticed when we started moving; it was so smooth!
I’ve never thought of myself as much of an ocean person. I love the beach but never thought I would like being at sea. This completely changed my opinion!
I could spend days on a boat!
Wow it’s so beautiful!
